DopeKicks Smashes Kickstarter Goal
DopeKicks is a campaign on the popular crowd-sourcing website, Kickstarter. The group is promoting what they’re calling “the world’s first eco-friendly shoes made from hemp.” The shoes also claim to be waterproof. At the time of this writing, the campaign has raised $183,000, which puts it over 1800% funded with over a week to run yet before it ends. For more information, see the campaign here.
First PTSD Study Shows Promising Findings for CBD
A preliminary study on the effects of CBD for those struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has wrapped up and shows promising findings. The results of the study suggest there are many potential benefits for those struggling from mental illness using popular new products containing CBD. Longest Marijuana-Related Jail Sentence Ended
Antonio Bascaro was imprisoned almost 40 years ago for his part in a marijuana smuggling scheme. The 1970s smuggling scheme required Bascaro, a former Cuban combat pilot who fought against Fidel Castro, to smuggle large quantities of marijuana into the United States. He served 39 years of the 60-year sentence before being released.
HPS Announces Release of The BudRubber
The BudRubber, released earlier this month by Hemp Processing Solutions, has garnered a great deal of attention from those in the hemp industry. The first industrial-scale separator designed specifically for the hemp industry, it’s capable of processing over 5,000 lbs per hour. That’s 60 tons of material in a single day. USDA Sets Target Deadline to Release Hemp Regulations
The US Department of Agriculture in June added some clarity as to when it hopes to develop its official stance on hemp. The group plans to announce an “interim final rule” for how it plans to treat hemp as soon as August.
