Hemp Processing Solutions Launches New BudRubber™
Harrisburg, SD – Hemp Processing Solutions (HPS) is proud to announce the release of the first industrial-grade on farm separator developed specifically for the hemp industry.
The BudRubber is the second machine in a lineup of separation and pre-processing equipment built by the team at HPS. It is designed for both farmer growers and processors looking to improve the separation process of plant biomass material. There are five primary parts to a hemp plant, each of which is experiencing rapid growth in value. In order for farmers to extract the highest possible value from the plant, it must be separated into the various components. The BudRubber is the first step in that process. What was once a time-consuming manual shucking process, growers can now rub the plants with a BudRubber and separate the biomass at rates never before seen. The BudRubber is capable of handling over 5,000 lbs per hour.
The BudRubber and the BioMaster™ help the hemp industry take giant leaps forward in processing capabilities. The BioMaster allows manufacturers and processing facilities to gain significant control over upstream processes by producing consistent particle size of high-value biomass. It’s capable of handling 2,000 lbs per hour.
“Historically, growers have been forced to rely on manual labor to shuck the plant material. This involved massive amounts of human labor which was both unreliable and time-consuming, not to mention expensive,” says Reid Vander Veen, Director of Marketing for Hemp Processing Solutions. “The average laborer could expect to separate 200-300 pounds per day. In that same amount of time, BudRubber can separate 25 tons of plant material. We’re talking about a revolution in hemp processing at an industrial scale.”
About Hemp Processing Solutions
Launched in May of 2018, HPS is bringing a wealth of agricultural knowledge and equipment experience to the hemp industry. With a background in equipment design and production, the team at HPS is on a quest to develop industrial-scale solutions for a rapidly growing market. Vander Veen continues, “Farmers across the country are exploring the industrial hemp space. As the markets develop, demand grows, and legislation loosens restrictions, we’re going to see large scale operations pop up all over the map. And we intend to have harvesting and processing solutions ready.”
With the passage of the Farm Bill in 2018 farmers and producers across the United States quickly turned their interest to hemp. With more documented uses than almost any other plant on the planet and a market hungry for innovative new products like CBD oil, clothing, fuel, and building materials, the interest in hemp plants is experiencing exponential growth, both from farmers and consumers alike.
Hemp Processing Solutions is based in South Dakota, where legislation currently prohibits the growth, sale, and processing of hemp plants. “We’ve set up a Research and Development facility in Colorado where we are currently conducting our tests as well as running product demos for customers,” says Vander Veen. “It’s definitely not ideal, but it works. We’re hoping our state will follow the lead of many of our neighbors and give farmers and consumers access to this incredible plant.”
